Please join us in welcoming our newest team member — Laura Venhaus! Laura will support Bryn and the team on research and evaluation projects with the Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota Humanities Center, and the Schubert Club.
Laura has a broad array of program management, community engagement, data management, and research experience that spans nonprofit work, libraries, businesses, and academia. She holds a Masters of Library Science from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
“Creation in Common is a special organization,” says Laura. “We share a passion for community building and I’m excited to see how my experience as a program manager and librarian can help further the mission of ‘strengthening community through shared creativity.'”
Laura will work remotely from Virginia, where she enjoys reading, knitting, and exploring her new home state with her husband, James and her daughter, Penelope. Her daughter Charlotte attends college nearby. This past summer Laura volunteered with World Central Kitchen’s #ChefsForAfghans project.
